Our faithful cars get us to work and back, get our kids to school in the morning, and to that dreaded visit with the in-laws. With long work weeks and hectic schedules, a lot of us basically live out of our cars. Clothes in the backseat, empty McDonald's coffee cups, kids sports equipment, and snack crumbs will surely accumulate over time, bringing with it odd smells and sludge on our dashboards that came from who knows what. But what can we do about getting our cars nice and comfortable so that we can actually enjoy the ride?
With summer approaching, many of us are getting ready for vacation, and some of us will inevitably go on road trips in our trusty stallion. Getting our cars clean and fresh can make all the difference when sitting for hours on end in traffic. That’s why we have some tips on how to get your car road trip-ready!
Car Cleaning Tips
So, your road trip is quickly approaching. You’re mapping out your drive, you’re booking hotels, and making packing lists. When will you possibly have time to clean your car? Don’t worry, we have some tips that will aid you in getting your car clean in no time.
Remove trash. Let’s start with some car interior cleaning. Empty coffee cups, snack wrappers, and any trash is unsightly, smelly, and takes up space where you could put new things - like new empty coffee cups and snack wrappers. If you want to have room for new stuff, get rid of the old first. It’s a no brainer. Just get a garbage bag and throw it all in the trash.
Eliminate dust. Achoo! That’s what your car companions will be doing the whole road trip if you don’t get rid of the seven layers of dust in your car. Get rid of dust and dirt on the inside and on the outside of your car using a product like a Waterless Auto Towel. This wonder product can reduce dust, dirt, grime, sticker residue, and pollen particles that might be lingering on or in your car. Get down and dirty so your car doesn’t have to be!
Vacuum. We vacuum our carpets in the house on a (hopefully) regular basis, but what about our cars? Those crumbs aren’t going to just fade away. Using a portable vacuum or a gas station vacuum, free the carpet and seats from their crumby situation.
Beautify the outside. Now that you’ve finished the car interior cleaning portion of the job, it’s time to spruce up the outside by giving it a good wash and cleaning the windows and hubcaps. Use a cleaning product like Miracle Scrub to get rust, dirt, and grime off of your hubcaps and get them looking good as new.
