Microwaves make cooking easier, plain and simple. When you've got frozen foods like pizza rolls or leftover Chinese from the night before it's much faster to just pop it in the microwave and have it heated up in seconds. But when you do this, it could cause a mess.
When food is being heated up inside a microwave, it can explode onto the inner walls or bubble over onto your microwave tray. And even when these mishaps don't occur, the mix of smells and food particles encapsulated in that small space can build up over time and make for a smelly sticky microwave.
So if you want to keep your cooking spaces clean, make sure you take the time to clean up every couple weeks.
Cleaning your microwave with vinegar
One of the best home ingredients you can use to clean out your microwave is white vinegar. White vinegar can clean up slime and grease and can neutralize potent smells that come from all the different foods you've been heating up.
Here are the easiest steps to cleaning your microwave with vinegar:
Get yourself some white vinegar for cleaning and mix one cup of the vinegar and one cup of water into a container and place it in the microwave.
Put the container in the microwave and set the timer to 5 - 10 minutes. When it's done, carefully remove the hot container from the microwave.
After the steam from the vinegar solution has coated the inside of the microwave, grab a cloth and wipe down the inner walls, removing all the grease and food splatters.
and Voila! Clean microwave here I come.
