Did you know washing as few as eight dishes in your dishwasher is more energy efficient than washing eight dishes by hand?
Your handy dishwasher works great at cleaning and sanitizing your dishes every day. But after all the hard work it puts in, it eventually will become dirty and not function as well over time.
So how do you deep-clean your dishwasher?
Step 1: Clear out the dishwasher drain and remove any food particles that may be caught. Any loose crumbs or gunk that's easy to pick up should be scooped up and thrown out.
Step 2: Fill a dishwasher-safe cup with white vinegar and carefully place it on the top rack of your dishwasher. Leave the rest of the dishwasher space empty.
Step 3: Run the dishwasher with the hottest water setting possible. This will create a vinegar steam that will cleanse the inside of your dishwasher.
Step 4: After the vinegar cycle is complete, sprinkle some baking soda in the bottom of your dishwasher and run another cycle with just the baking soda.
And we're done! Cleaner dishes, here we come!
